The National Government and the County Government of Mombasa have pledged its full support towards the success of Skal World Congress which will be held in Pride Inn Paradise Mombasa from 17th - 21st October 2018.
Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Hon. Najib Balala gave this strong statement during a meeting which he personally convened in Mombasa.
The meeting was officiated by the Cabinet Secretary, accompanied by P.S. Dr. Margaret Mwakima and P.S Mr. Joe Okudo and over 10 officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife. The County Government of Mombasa had a strong representation by county officials, headed by CEC, Trade, Tourism & Investment, Hon. Fawz Rashid. Also present was the Skal World Congress Local Organizing Committee (LOC) was led by the Skal Kenya President Mr. Silvester Mbandi.
Hon. Balala assured the Skal LOC that the County Government has embarked on a heavy beautification and clean-up project so as to ensure that Mombasa is in its best shape as the global tourism decision makers prepare to come and sample the destination. The Cabinet Secretary emphasized that the National Government is investing on the outlook for the country and the image of the country as a tourism destination. The CS had earlier taken a tour of Mombasa with the Governor of Mombasa, Hon. Ali Hassan Joho, even as the County embarks on the National Regeneration project geared towards cleaning and beautifying the county.
During the meeting, the LOC updated the officials present of the milestones covered ahead of the congress as well as the 19 countries, who already have a representation by the delegates confirmed. The Congress
